A Limitless Dungeon is a group name for a special type of dungeon in each game (with the exclusion of Boktai 3: Sabata's Counterattack), only accessible by doing something "special". In Boktai: The Sun is in Your Hand, there is a dungeon named the Azure Sky Tower. In Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django, there is a dungeon named Dream Avenue. In Lunar Knights, there is a dungeon named Vambery Tower.
The Limitless Dungeon (which is so named by Neoseeker members in the Boktai community) gets its name from the amount of floors there are in that particular dungeon. There is a maximum of 99 floors in Azure Sky Tower, and the same with Vambery Tower.
Limitless Dungeons are, at the beginning, very basic dungeons. You will encounter many enemies and items to use, some of which will be very rare, particularly in the Boktai games. As you progress - as in, number of floors - the enemies will increase in strength and things will become increasingly difficult.
There are differences between the Boktai limitless dungeons and the Vambery Tower in Lunar Knights. The objective for Azure Sky Tower and Dream Avenue is to collect a key and open the appropriate door with that key, which then allows the player to continue to the next floor. In Azure Sky Tower, it's held by a random enemy, however in Dream Avenue you must find it on a weight switch panel.
In Vambery Tower, however, the player must clear each floor of the tower to continue and fight the boss on the 10th floor. Another big difference is that the only items the player will find are dropped by enemies. This can be seen as a good or a bad thing; Mimics, for example, can drop gold bars, and numerous good items are dropped by enemies.
